About Laveen School
Laveen Elementary School is a “Mindful Leadership” school and the winner of the 2018 Arizona School Board’s Golden Bell Award for the most promising school program of the year. Mindful leadership is about developing mental and emotional strength in children. As our students become mindful leaders, they will develop the knowledge and attitudes needed to thrive in a world of increasing complexity, uncertainty, and exponential change. Laveen Elementary School strives to educate and empower all of its students to do their personal best by making responsible choices that positively affect their mind, body and spirit. Yoga is provided three times a week before school, a mindful “reset room” is available daily in the main office, adolescent skills courses are required for all middle school students, and after-school activities are offered that focus on social, emotional, and physical wellness. In addition, “Second Step,” a program rooted in social-emotional learning that helps transform schools into supportive, successful learning environments uniquely equipped to help children thrive is offered at all grade levels weekly. At Laveen Elementary School, “we teach leadership form the inside out!”
Laveen School’s school hours are 8:30 a.m. -3:30 p.m.
