I Can Do It Award

Students holding awards Three Laveen students are the recipients of the Arizona Council for Exceptional Children’s “I Can Do It!” awards.

This year’s winners are:
Mabil Mabil, 4th Grade student at Laveen – Nominated by Ms. Turner
Issac Hlebak, 4th Grade student at Trailside Point- Nominated by Ms. Walker
Salma Salceda, 8th Grade student at Laveen – Nominated by Ms. Veney

Exceptional Service Awards

Congratulations to our 2022-23 Exceptional Service Award winner Michael Hall, Guest Teacher! The Exceptional Service Award is the district’s highest honor for classified staff members.

Community Service Club Thousands of Canned Goods for Food Bank

LES Canned Food 2022 (1)The Community Service Club at Laveen Elementary School held a canned drive for St. Mary’s Food Bank before break and collected over 2,000 cans and non-perishable food items. The Community Service Club is advised by 8th grade ELA teacher, Adrian Ruiz. This middle school club recently joined forces with the Laveen Kiwanis Club and will now be a “Kiwanis Builder Club.” As a new Builders Club, students will continue to develop self-awareness as they discover their passion to serve, their passion to lead and their ability to engage and collaborate with others. Laveen Elementary School thanks the Laveen Kiwanis Club for their continued support!

Laveen Hawks win 2022 boys basketball championship

Our boys basketball semifinals and championship game was held last night at Betty Fairfax High School. Cheatham, Desert Meadows, Laveen, and Vista del Sur participated in the semifinals. The Laveen Hawks held off the Vista del Sur Tigers in the championship game. The Hawks took home the trophy as the 2022 district champions!
